Hi! I'm Becki
I started Campanaro College Consulting with the goal of helping teens and young adults align their strengths, values, and interests with educational and career opportunities.
The teenage and young adult years are a time of incredible growth and maturity. It is a time for individuals to develop not only intellectually but also emotionally, socially, and mentally. My approach to coaching develops individuals in a multi-dimensional fashion.
Advisor. Guide. Coach. Mentor. Confidant. Counselor. Advocate.
These words define the many facets of my work. Drawing on these many roles, enables me to tailor my approach to form close relationships and provide a holistic coaching experience for each of my clients. My approach emphasizes process-level thinking with the ultimate goal to empower individuals with a sense of achievability and accomplishment that can fuel confidence when tackling future challenges. My coaching services provide a transformative personal growth experience that supports each individual to reach his or her full-potential.
My Journey
Learn about the experiences that led me to start Campanaro College Consulting.

1999 - High School to College Transition
I graduated high school in 1999 and began college at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. A small, liberal arts college was the right fit for me. Small class sizes facilitated the formation of close relationships with my professors that endure to this day. I was also able to compete as a collegiate athlete in NCAA Division III Volleyball for four years.

2003 - In Pursuit of a PhD
After completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, I decided to continue my education through the pursuit of a Ph.D. in the same field. I moved 3000 miles across the country to attend Arizona State University. After spending 4.5 years apart, I have to admit that a large part of my selection criteria was moving closer to my partner who I married in 2006. It was the right decision for me. I firmly believe that in striving for success, we must make decisions as whole people considering both professional and personal.

2009 - Finally Entering the working world
Following the completion of my Ph.D. I spent a year as a Lecturer for General Chemistry courses at ASU. At the time, ASU was the largest single campus for undergraduates in the US with over 50,000 students. Quite a change from my undergraduate experience at Susquehanna.

2010 - Life had other plans
Life doesn't always go the way we plan. In early 2010, my husband lost his job during the Great Recession. A few months later, we picked up our family and moved to Pittsburgh, PA. Ask me about the most epic networking story that led us to this new home! After a few months staying home with my then 2 year old, I returned to the research laboratory. I was fortunate to have a truly amazing postdoctoral advisor who was immensely supportive of my personal development and the perfect mentor for me.

2015 - Finding my Passion
I had long known that experimental research was not where I was called to do my life's work. Throughout my education and professional life, I had many opportunities to teach, coach, and mentor teens and young adults. I started to put together a resume that clearly documented these experiences and highlighted my non-technical skill set. I was thrilled to land "my dream job" as a teaching track faculty member and academic advisor at a prestigious university.

2020 - Campanaro College Consulting
"Keep doing things you enjoy, reflect, and be honest with yourself, and you will end up discovering your passion." This is a phrase that I've repeated to hundreds of students. I had to listen to my own advice. Through reflection, I found that I was truly passionate about guiding young people through the process of identifying and taking concrete steps to achieve their academic and career goals. I took a leap of faith, and Campanaro College Consulting was born. Guided by my own experiences navigating my career path and working with young people at various stages of development, I offer services that are designed to meet each individual where he or she is and take the stress out of the process.
